Fantastic $30 Map-Making Humble Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

Following a short availability back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned for a limited time available through early December. Described as an extensive collection of mapping tools created by a specialized software company throughout their history, the entire collection is valued at over $1,300. And there are three different bundles available here.

The Main Attraction

The big draw is definitely permanent access for Campaign Cartographer 3+, a professional-grade cartography program that can be used to create everything from epic fantasy landscapes, detailed regional charts, urban layouts, and, perhaps most importantly, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.

A regional fantasy map generated in Campaign Cartographer 3+.

Bundle Tiers

Basic Package

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, features merely four of the 39 total items: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Monster Token Pack 1, Castle Source Maps, Urban Source Maps. This package suits cartographers who already have CC3+, but it does offer new fantasy symbol styles for landscape mapping, more than 750 monster tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts including hundreds of map markers, eight complete urban centers, plus seventy-plus building interiors.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-item bundle for at least $15 offers enhanced value by adding in a lifetime CC3+ license, the first Annual volume, Tome of Ultimate Mapping, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. The Annual represents the annual collection from the company's ongoing subscription program featuring multiple CC3+ enhancements like map collections and various other tools. The Isometric Cities enables display cities with an extra dimension with isometric views from multiple angles. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, packed with guidance and instructions for the map-making process.

Full Package

Starting at thirty dollars, the 39-item bundle includes all the following:

  • Fractal Terrains 3+
  • Dungeon Designer 3
  • City Designer 3
  • Cosmographer 3
  • Viewpoint Enhancement
  • Dioramas 3
  • Character Artist 3
  • Fantasy Interior Symbols
  • Symbol Set 3: Modern
  • Symbol Set 4: Dungeons of Schley
  • Schley Urban Pack
  • Monster Token Collection 2
  • Religious Structure Maps
  • World War 2 Interactive Atlas
  • World Builder’s Compendium
  • Annual Volumes 1-17
  • Campaign Cartographer 3+ (Lifetime License)
  • Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities
  • Comprehensive Mapping Guide
  • Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland
  • Monster Token Set 1
  • Fortress Source Maps
  • Source Maps: Cities!

All 17 volumes from the Annual series come with this bundle, plus numerous other resource and asset packs that can help users design entire planets or galaxies, or just go all-in on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, underground complexes, cities, and land masses from almost any perspective. You can even design character illustrations. At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the complete collection offers tremendous value, particularly for mappers with temporary CC3+ access and want to upgrade to lifetime. But it's obviously more advantageous for cartography beginners since it includes the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The one caveat here though you can redeem the deal across platforms, the software is only usable on Windows.

Philanthropic Aspect

Similar to previous bundles, part of every purchase supports charitable organizations. For this one, the beneficiary is Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response. Package customization options appear near the page top, but you can also select their donation amount on the right side of the page. Additionally available is an "Adjust Donation" drop-down just below that, enabling adjustment of how much of your donation goes to Humble, Profantasy, and Save the Children.
